Partnership Announcement: Strong Network & Tarmac.io
Today Tarmac.io a global software development and DevOps consultancy along with Strong Network a 2023 Gartner Hype Cycle categorized leader in Secure Cloud Development Environments (CDE) jointly announce their partnership.
Strong Network and Tarmac.io have a shared vision and strategy for providing a secure and observable software development lifecycle while also providing an engaging and productive developer experience”, said Brent Kastner, CTO of Tarmac.io. “Gone are the days of clunky virtual desktops and remote developer workstations that suffer from connectivity issues and lag” he continued.
“Tarmac.io has seen a growing movement towards total custody of assets such as source code, data and credentials by leveraging cloud-based development environments (CDE) due to an increased focus by regulators as well as stricter policy requirements for cyber insurance. There is and will continue to be a growing need for provable and observable asset custody and this need will continue to grow year over year”.
From Tarmac.io’s perspective, given the field of potential tools to use in this space, including the major offerings from Google Workstations, Microsoft DevBox, and GitHub Codespaces, Tarmac.io has selected StrongNetwork Secure CDE Platform for our product development teams for the following reasons:
    • Enhanced developer experience - Developers can use web-based or local IDEs with access to ready-to-code yet customizable environments defined "as code" with on-demand computational resources.
    • Full data loss prevention - Workspaces are fully secured against data loss via clipboard monitoring, network policies and a data access proxy transparently protecting resource credentials.
    • Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) - Simplifies hardware procurement for remote and/or distributed teams as the device is simply a gateway to the cloud hosted development environment.
    • Developer onboarding - Onboarding time is reduced to minutes vs. hours or days with the use of templated development environments, defined by the organization, that readily define personal setting, data access control rights, security and cloud resources usage policies.
    • Build pipelines - Seamless integration with all existing code and infrastructure delivery pipelines, in addition a growing series of “native integrations” that further protect data access between the platform and DevOps application across the SDLC.
From Strong Network’s perspective, given the large field of potential service providers to use in this space, Strong Network has selected Tarmac.io as a solution provider for the following reasons:
    • Technical depth - The depth of technical knowledge of Tarmac.io's Teams allow our customers to benefit from optimal advice around the implementation of Strong Network’s platform.
    • Cloud transformation expertise - Tarmac.io enables our customers to lead their cloud transformation journey in the most efficient way, by sharing their own teams’ experience with deploying and using Strong Network.
    • Platform customization and integration - Tarmac.io helps our customers implement their development workflows and integrate their platform engineering processes in a way that maximizes their ROI on the platform.
    • Resource and cost optimization - Tarmac.io's hands-on experience with cloud deployments allows organizations adopting our platform to optimize consumption and achieve cost reduction.
    • Global project delivery - Tarmac.io's world-wide team enables delivery of our platform and technical support in a close loop, such that local technical interactions allow for cost-efficiency implementations.
    • Growth opportunities - This partnership opens opportunities to expand, grow and reach more clients effectively,
“As a global software development and DevOps services company, Tarmac.io is well positioned to help Strong Network grow its network of implementation, delivery, and support partners” said Laurent Balmelli, CEO and Head of Product at Strong Network. “Our shared vision for the future of application development in an enterprise setting as well as our continued focus on a pleasing and productive developer experience makes the alignment of our two organizations a meeting of the minds. We look forward to continued growth in this space.”
